Help!! Backlight = BLACK!?

Guys, this is the second tim
e this has happened.
I accidently hit a program on my launcher that shows the mogul with a bulb. Screen turns black. I plug it in to my computer, and the screen comes on.

I hit the button again, just to see if I can turn it off, and the screen goes black. Now I'm stuck with a black screen while plugged in or not.

How do I change the backlight settings without being on the damn phone? I really really really do not want to do another hard reset.
Is it possible to remotely edit the registry to change it?
Im pretty sure what happened is that on the screen where you change the brightness they are both turned all the way down, and now I'm screwed.
Soft reset does not help...
Thanks guys...i want to cry
Joe

I also have another idea, if someone would do it.
Is there a possible way to modify the screen brightness without touching the screen?
Like start> hit s for settings
hit b for backlight

would this be possible so I could change it? Ughhhh

Open the keyboard and follow this...

Windows key, S, directional pad up, directional pad right, directional pad up, B, directional pad center click (for okay), left and right arrow on this page will control battery power backlight settings. If you press the directional pad down arrow one time you will be at the external power backlight settings.

Of course, all of this will work assuming you start at the today screen. Good luck buddy!

It's REALLY stupid that they let you turn the backlight OFF. I mean once its off, how do they expect you to turn the damn thing back on? It's like a break-me button.

Lol somethin like this happened to me one time. Apparently I accidentally changed my external power backlight settings to off so whenever I plugged it up, the screen would go black! I was really trippin off this cuz I thought i was gonna have to do a hard reset again (first time I got a black screen, it wasn't the backlight). So one day I have it in my cradle n I accidentally touch the screen n it comes back on. Somehow I got into my backlight settings n turned it back on. Mannnn did I feel stupid lol

I swear that my 700wx and ppc6700 used to do this on their own! lol

I noticed that even with the backlight all the way off I could tilt the phone into sunlight and see enough to navigate to the settings and jack the light level back to normal.
