alltel to uscc
 

I converted the 6800 alltel phone to work on uscc. Everything seems to be working fine but when I do *228 to update the towers it goes to an alltel welcome where I can activate a phone or update roaming towers. Not sure if I should do the update with alltel. Does anyone know how to change where that call goes?

I think you need to change the PRL on your phone. It still has the Alltel version. you need to update it to the US cellular. Heres a link where you can find some PRLs: http://www.corolada.com/prl/

That worked thanks. Is there some where here in the fourms that do a step by step for this cause some people might not figure it out.

Glad that helped you :) Heres a brief method to change your PRL for those who don't know how to:

first download the PRL you need from: http://www.corolada.com/prl/, save the prl somewhere on your phone that is easy to browse to.

if you have an Alltel 6800 or 6700 you would dial ##775 then enter a total of 6 zeros for the password, then tap on the PRL tab and select MENU and then EDIT then BROWSE your phone to where you saved the prl file, then hit ok.
