PRL is a Preferred Roaming List.

Simply this tells the phone which are the preferred cell sites to use on the network for best quality service performance.

Signal Strength meters are considered "Dummy" meters meaning they are far from accurate and should not be used as a way to gauge real life coverage.

I currently use 1.40 radio and it works awesome, roams like its suppose to and doesnt lock up. PRL 60611 doesnt play well with radio 1.40. I believe it was made for 1.47.01 in an attempt to fix the roaming and lockups.
PRLs are updated regularly as the physical network changes and evolves. As for ROM lockup issues, try your phone prior to any 3rd party apps and see if it still locks up. Even a good ROM can have an issue when apps are thrown into the mix. People want to blame the "Radio" or the "PRL" for lockup/ROM issues and in reality its more than likely the apps placed on the device.

Hmm, interesting. Fortunately I have not had that experience yet. I plan to keep it with 1.40/60611 until the weekend, and then I'll see how it does on 1.47.01/60611.

Time to go back to 60610. In this area Alltel provides the EVDO even when you are on Sprint voice. When I went to roam on Alltel, it went to 1X. Normally when I go to roam on Alltel it stays as EVDO. I double checked the SID to make sure I wasn't on Verizon too.

Where to place the downloade PRL file

After several attempts to get Sprint Service to understand that I wanted them to provide my phone with an updated PRL I downloaded 60611.
What folder do I place it in?
My first attempt to install failed (using ##PRL#). Tool did not seem to detect it on the storage card.

Apparently the missing "Roaming Data Icon" is gone by design.

I had many problems with roaming and multiple texts after updating to 60611. And I don't believe it has anything to do with 3rd party apps. I did a hard reset, updated to 60611 and the multiple texts started happening. All on a clean install.

Did another hard reset and went back to 60610 and the problem went away. As of right now, I'm actually using PRL 20229. It seems to work best for me since I'm roaming a lot during the day.

Enjoy.
Appreciate you posting that, I was just getting ready to upload it.
Works great on my Mogul!!!

Although not 100% confirmed, I read on another post that they have removed the data roaming triangle from the latest PRL. It certainly would explain why nobody using the new PRL has reported seeing their Roaming Icon.
