Another discussion for this problem came up and it was said turning predictive text off solves this problem.

+1 on SKTools.

25.5mb on soft reset reboot and a press or two throughout the day of the "Free Ram" button re-allocates about 1,750k (1.8mb - 5,200k (5.2mb) of memory.

I am using TouchPal with predictive text and I can burn through emailing/texting...

I wish I could even approach that kind of available memory. I use the FreeRAM tool and I am never above 20MB, even after a reset. I have SPB plus, mobile shell and pocket weather installed. Those are the only things that should (as far as I know) be loading on startup.

Wow xweaponx, 25.5mb free on sft reset, you must have a really tweek rom or something. Best I have is 22mb, with bluetooth on, but without any voicecommand software. hope you don't mind, but i'm going to pm ya so I can see where I can improve my memory management.

I am running Custel's rom which gives me the base tweaked platform. I have quite a few apps installed but SKTools keeps my device managed for optimum performance. Remember that SPB Pocket Plus, Shell as well as HTC Home, iPhone thems, Pocket CM, etc use a decent amount of memory even if that dont initially startup after resetting.

SKTools has many settings for optimizing registry, files, battery life, caches, folders, etc. It's amust have for any tweaker.

texting doesnt come near to using even 5mb of ram, so unless you are getting low memory alerts, a soft reset usually speeds things up (programs that dont remove themselves from memory properly are the culprits, especially PIE)

What program are you texting with?
