Boost Mobile Internet Connection Settings

I just activated my old Mogul on Boost Mobile or my girlfriend and now everything is working except the internet, when it tries to dial #777 it gives and error which is understandable being that that number is for sprint, so with that being said, does anyone know the number for Boost Mobile, or better yet how to setup the mogul to be able to access internet on Boost Mobile. All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Boost Mobile Internet Connection Settings

I believe Boost is Sprint. Being a prepaid service, do they have data plans?

You could potentially call them and ask for help.

that's what i was thinking, boost is iDen so how'd they get CDMA to activate? and i don't think boost's web runs on EVDO which is what the mogul uses for data so its probably not going to happen. i had my sprint rep telling me about the nextel blackberry curve can be ported to boost but it's web won't work but that particular curve's web is EVDO so its probably the same situation, i think

Re: Boost Mobile Internet Connection Settings

Boost mobile is nextel, nextel is sprint. Just like before, some phones sprint sold were hybrids. They used the CDMA network for calls and data but also used iden for their PTT functionality.

Activating a mogul on boost is possible since the phone would use the CDMA network to do it's calling. I highly doubt there is any PTT support since there's no iden radio and I don't think sprint merged the two technologies together yet.

Regarding internet, I think you would need the iden radio because nextel had their own iden internet package. It was slow as hell but served it's purpose. Also nextel handsets had a unique data address that was used to push events to the phone so I don't think your mogul will get you anywhere regarding internet. This is unless sprint is willing to open up their evdo network to you as a boost customer.

Again their hybrid phones only relied on iden for ptt, I don't know how boost has their network tied into sprint regarding what functions are allowed to run on what networks.

Re: Boost Mobile Internet Connection Settings

Boost has 2 different services at the same time. It has the iden side ( the nextel network) and it has a CDMA side ( sprin network) . It has packages for both networks and the pricing differs. That $50 unlimited everything plan you hear about is the package they have for the iden phones. Boost itself has 3 CDMA phones the c290 the w385 and the krzr that work.

It is possible to get a sprint phone onto Boost if the customer service operator you are talking to is cooperative and accepts the ESN from the spint phone but its not that commen an occurance many people have tried but only a few succeded.

One of those that was able to get the ESN from his sprint Mogul accepted onto his Boost account said that everything was working from calling to text to web access without touching any of the settings.Hopefully that helps if any questions id be happy to help if i can.

Re: Boost Mobile Internet Connection Settings

Hello all... I also just added my centro as my Boost phone and can't access the web. Text and phone work perfect. My centro has all my old settings for the sprint network and I can't figure out what new settings to use. Any advice? feel free to email me joeysherenow@yahoo.com
