Rom 2.16.651 Radio1.47.00 Working "with these settings"

*It Works for Me.
Good luck to you!
I installed Sprints release two weeks ago.
I have not had 1 lock up.
I can leave Bluetooth on for days, it does not turn off on it's own.
My D-Pad works. Always.
I have more apps installed than most.
To name a few:
MS Voice
CE Commander
SPB WX, Pocket Plus4, Time, Phone Tools, Back up
Sprint TV
HTC streaming
Office 07 or 6.1
SK tools
Mem Maid
Pocket Mechanic
Core Player
Pocket Player
Resco Keyboard and Photo Viewer
Pocket Live TV
Pencil Box Deluxe,
More
+ At least 12 games (my daughter loves them)

*I believe the lockups and Bluetooth problems are related to Power Management and the new Radio.
That said,
Here are the settings which work for me.

1. Go to your power settings and uncheck them.
Do not allow the device to shut itself off.
Shut it off yourself with the power switch and rely
On the screen settings to save your battery.
This is the main fix, believe it or not,
It works for me.

Screen001.jpg

2. Go to your Phone settings and turn off Roaming.
Select Sprint only or Roaming Only (depending on your location)
It seems Auto switching causes lock ups, so take the
Auto out of the equation.

Screen003.jpg

* Like I said, it works for me. I hope it helps you and I hope I did not waste your time. I can wait for the next update with my device set on these settings.

/*/Mods feel free to Move this, but I thought it deserved it's own thread.

I know you installed the new rom 2 weeks ago, but how long have you had these settings running for?

When i had the 1.47, my phone still locked up when I tried to switch it to roam only, but who knows..

would this power setting use up considerably more battery?

I switched to the 1.4 radio, and don't use bluetooth so I doubt I will be going back to 1.47..but if these settings do work, then it will definately benefits plenty of people..

I'm sorry. I should have been more specific.
I installed the Rom within twenty minuets of it being found/posted.
I have had it set up this way for two weeks. (Since Nov. 4th)
I have only used Roaming 4 or five times,
But No lock ups.
(I don't really need to, just checking)
The power does drain, but no faster than it did with the device controlling it.
Especially during a lock up. <100% dropped to 40% in less than a half hour. (wow)>
I just bought an extended battery(HTC) and I can go
uncharged for a day +/- 8 hours depending on usage.
Under normal usage(for me, pretty heavy, streaming orb cam to watch the kids, browsing, texting, emails, calls ect...)
*I am good about shutting it down and
I set my screen to dim after 30 sec or ten sometimes.
Hope it helps.

How about Bluetooth usage? Any problems there?

Hi everyone.

coincidently enough as the user with the first post in this thread i haven't had any "MAJOR" issues at all ever since i upgraded my mogul from 2.09 to 2.16: like dpad and locking up while roaming something like that.

BUT i do have some minor issues like:

1-alarm will go off while charging but it will replicate 3 or 4 alarms at the same time and i'll have to dismiss 3 or 4 instances.

2-while on the subway or when the phone doesn't have any service (signal) if you soft reset the phone, when it comes back up the date and time will FLIP-OUT and triggered all you alarms, tasks and appointments, etc... the date will be set to january 5 2080 but it will fix itself like in 5 to 10 mins. so if you want to replicate it before doing this set the phone to vibrate because is very noise.

3-my evdo speed rate when down to an average of 500-700 when it used to be 900-1000.

4-delayed ringer. people complaint of me not picking the phone quickly, i did a test and my phone start ringing after you've heard the 4th or 3rd ring on the other side.

5-sometimes it wakes up by itself and i think it might be a call coming through or a text message.

those are the only issues that i have with this update besides that everything is fine.

I'm gonna have to chime in here. Post #2 for me...I bought my Mogul used off Craigslist and it came with the Alltell ROM on it. This was on the 4th. I couldn't activate it because of the ROM. So I had to reinstall the newest Sprint ROM. I did, 2.16, and the phone worked very well. I never experienced a lot of the problems I've been reading about here. One thing I can say though is, that 2.09 seems to be a little faster...If that's at all possible. Since then, I've gotten a new insurance replacment ( 1/2" deep bucket of antifreeze will do wonders to a Mogul) running 2.09 and am just as happy, if not happier about the overall increased speed of the device. But I myself have never experienced any lockups with the 2.16 ROM either, or BT issues for that matter.

Hey austin....are you running the same setting so far? If so, how has it been? I'm trying to do some extensive testing to try to pin-point a cause. If you get a chance, please post results as of now...including Bluetooth and D-Pad.

Hello All,
I am still up and running with NO problems with the settings posted above.
I am set until the next release or until I finish my custom Rom.
Bluetooth still running fine, as long as I leave it on, it's on.
NO D-Pad Problem at all.
I've found that the HTC Performance cab is worth the install...
It speeds up our device when needed. * no illusion *
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
