Ditch the Mogul for a Treo 800?

Has anyone considered ditching the Mogul for a Treo 800? I mean, its essentially the mogul but without the slide out keyboard (and all the problems). Its got WM6, 128mb memory, 320x320 (vs 240 x 320 on mogul), and working GPS. The only thing that i prefer on the mogul is the larger, full size keyboard.

I'm seriously giving it some thought. I like the Mogul but these problems and the support is just too much to take. I dont see any advantage of the Mogul besides the larger KB if thats your thing.

I will definitely consider it when/if it becomes available but we really don't know what the specs will be until it actually comes out. I don't think the screen will be as big as the Mogul's though (it would require a complete redesign from Palm), so that might be a dealbreaker. I do miss the Treo kb though.

I'm seriously considering it. If it has a beefier CPU and Rev A + actual working GPS out of the box, I'll probably be switching the day it comes out.

After the recent update and the problems with bluetooth, I think I will be making the move "back" to a treo.

Who knows... mostly speculation.

Our Sprint source gave us a great tip on the upcoming Treo 800w that's coming Q4 2007. (That's not a picture of it on the left.)

Lots and lots of improvements for Sprint users over what they can get right now with the 700wx, including EV-DO REV A., Windows Mobile 6, a 320x320 display (now supported on WM6), 256MB flash, 128MB RAM, a 1.3-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and an expansion slot.

The big ones are of course Windows Mobile 6, the increased speed of EV-DO Rev. A, Wi-Fi, and that larger screen resolution. The 320x320 resolution is square, yes, but nothing that Treo fans haven't gotten used to already. Plus, it's the first phone announced to support the 320x320 resolution that WM6 offers.

Sprint's aiming at a Q4 2007 release, but we'll see whether the phone's pushed up or back in the coming months.
I don't think its that speculative to accept these basic specs. I think support from Palm will be better than hTC (sadly). Unless I see a ROM that brings this Mogul up to _BASIC_ functionality within the next 2 weeks I will really consider washing my hands of hTC at the first opportunity.

Leaked Roadmap: And, sometime in Q1 2008, we should be seeing the Palm Treo 800w. The CDMA Treo will be rocking the Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional OS that will finally bring a Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional Treo to Sprint’s network, and is basically a WinMo6 variant of the Palm Treo 755p.

two early to tell. i did like the wm treo (wx that is). i really dont think the same size ram will be a winner though. may of use mogul users will be going to another device because of this lack of ram. the other mogul issues will always be fixable. even know a custom rom is working pretty darn good. by the time the treo 800 comes out we should have a full blown kitchen. the treo may never get a custom rom. look at the w/wx... 14-22 months and still no roms. since there is little xda support on these cdma (us bassed) units. i like the hacking and modding to much to stay stock forever.

The Treo 700wx had a buttload of problems even just running WM5.

Assuming the Treo 800 won't is a large assumption.

That is also assuming the specs on the 800 are still good by the time it actually RELEASES.
