Phone hardresetting itself

My phone has hardreset itself 3 times in the past month. There seems to be no pattern involved. The first time, it happened during a scheduled backup run by SPB backup. I can't remember what happened the second time, but the third time it happened after my phone battery died.

I also have an issue where if I don't put my phone on charger overnight, it drains the battery completely. This has been happening for a couple of months. I have my push email set to check emails every 2 hours during offpeak (12 am - 9 am). Because my phone uses ROM, isn't it supposed to retain its contents when the battery is drained?

Hard reset? So it erases ALL your info and goes back to factory state by itself? If that's the case, you have a defective unit. I have never heard of this before.

And yes, if the battery is drained, your info should be there after you charge it again.

Yea, it hard reset itself without any intervention from me 3 times; usually overnight when I'm not looking My last question is, can buggy software cause your phone to hard reset? Or is that rather unlikely?

I personally think it's unlikely. Unless you have an app that can perform hard resets and it's not working properly.

Never seen this before...

I've had this happen twice..

Both times I was using the phone, ended the call, put it to sleep in the holster.

Phone was frozen when I tried to use it... soft reset... ended up with a full hard reset.

I read the title of this thread "Phone hairdressing itself."

What kind of man has a phone with hair?

I had this problem happen to me constantly (3-4 times a day) on a 6700 and that's how I ended up with a Mogul. Sprint will replace it if you have the TEP.

ya, I kinda had the same situation, and than it reset. I was like @$@#$#@ 200 #'s gone everything.. I honestly think I added a virus tainted file on my phone. Very distraught. I know this because I after each Synch. I make a full blown back up of my phone. Seems like a waste of time right, but ya. I scanned them all and BAM! corrupt file.
