Opera Mina Beta Non-Proxy?

hey all,

I was wondering if there was a way/method/tweak so that you do not have to use the opera proxy in order to connect to the internet when using opera mini.

I like the opera mini browser a lot, except I feel like I do not get the same speeds when having to go through their servers.

Is there something I am missing?

From my understanding, that is the main concept behind Opera Mini...is that you can view full web pages because the Opera servers optimize them before sending them to your phone. Without that, you dont have Opera Mini at all. I dont think it can work without it! I might be wrong though.
