vzw xv6800 -> Alltel - No Mobile Data or MMS

Hi folks,

Brand spankin' new around here, but I've spent the last two days trying to work this out on my own, but I'm stumped, so asking for help:

I was given a Verizon xv6800.
I want to be able to run it on the Alltel network.

I put Hard-SPL-MFG on it.
I updated the ROM to:
RUU_TITAN_ALLTEL_WWE_3.35.671.9_RS_TITAN_03.37.20_ Alltel_2.01_AM_PPST_Ship.exe

I put in my Alltel MIN, MDN, and SID and changed NAM from VZW to NAM1.
I changed the PRL to an Alltel EVDO one (40047).
I entered '<myNum>@alltel.net' as the username.
I entered 'alltel' as the password.

Voice calling works.
Standard text messaging works.

MMS and and mobile web DO NOT work.

I've tried everything I've been able to search out with no luck.

Any help at this point would be huge.

Regards,
Grimfel

install a alltel carrier cab for kicks to see what happens. http://dcd1182.n715dp.com/index.php?...%2Fcarriers%2F

Installed the DCD Alltel Carrier CAB with still no success.

It attempts to dial #777 but always fails to establish a connection.

Re: vzw xv6800 -> Alltel - No Mobile Data or MMS

Just got off the phone with Alltel technical support. They said there's two areas on the phone where data is store: 1.) The area where the OS and and other info goes, which can be edited, flashed, etc. 2.) The area where original carrier info goes, which can not bet edited.

He says that the Verizon information is in this second, non-editable, area, and even if I flash to an Alltel ROM, the Verizon information is basically hardwired into the phone and can't be changed regardless.

Anyone know if that's true or not? If not, how do I get into that info?

YOU WIN!

Thank you so much! Is there anything I could've searched for, as a newbie, that would have given me this info? I'm hoping I did a fairly thorough job before wanking for help. :)

Only other thing I'm wondering about is if I can now install a DCD ROM so I can get off this awful Alltel one, without losing any of my connectivity. :)

Thanks again.

Grimfel

ps: Quick Poll - Would it be worthwhile for me to distill all this information into a step-by-step guide for migrating from Verizon to Alltel, in case some poor other sucker like myself comes along in the future?

Yeah you can flash any rom now and these settings should stick. I would save that info for future use. Sometimes the settings can be erased.
