AT&T Tilt Flashing Screen

I have the AT&T tilt which came with WM6 pro. I upgraded to WM6.1 pro, Since then my screen will light up, then shut off, and it will do this at random and on an intermit basis. When the screen lights up, it's just the back light that comes on, none of the destop icons or time or anything else will show. This happens without touching the phone, and it doesn't matter if the battery is at full or low charge. This happens with the phone just sitting on my table without the charger plugged in. Has anyone encountered this? the only articles I've come across said to deactivate the telenav, which I already did.

Have you tried a hard reset?

Re: AT&T Tilt Flashing Screen

Do you use the lock feature? I noticed this and I was running the Hyperdragon III PRO ROM. Whenever I used the Lock the backlight would light up randomly for a few seconds and go off. If I didn't use the lock feature I don't have that problem.

I do use the lock feature, but it doesn't make a difference, it still happens. The windows mobile 6.1 I'm using is an official ROM from the HTC web site

Re: AT&T Tilt Flashing Screen

A coworker just upgraded his Tilt with my help to the same ROM and doesn't have this issue. He followed my suggestion to hard reset a couple of times, letting the customizations run each time. I'd assume there might be a corrupted dll in there causing the issue that a reflash might cure, provided the RUU will even let you reflash. I would suggest downloading the upgrade again, in case the copy you have got corrupted in the download, and hard reset a couple times. If that doesn't work there's always a kitchen ROM.

Re: AT&T Tilt Flashing Screen

I redownloaded the WM6.1 from HTC and reinstalled it. So far the phone seems to be working properly. I'll have to wait a couple of days and see what it does

Re: AT&T Tilt Flashing Screen

Cool. I bet it was a bad/corrupted file. Good luck.

Re: AT&T Tilt Flashing Screen

Hi Ryche316,
I have the same problem, Tilt 8925, WM6.1. Was it fixed after you reinstalled WM6.1?
