Post Comm Manager Skin Without installing Cooked Kitchen

I have done some exhaustive searches of this and other forums (and even google) regarding skinning my default HTC 9 Button Comm Manager, but to no avail.

I am not into flashing my ROM or installing any kitchen, but I would just like a simple, functioning, attractive Comm Manager skin to replace my regular one. Something quick and painless like the calculator or Iphone WMP skin would be much appreciated.

I have attached some that I have come across that have sparked my interest.

Any help, information, or specially customized for me cab files in this regard would be much appreciated. As mentioned earlier, I have spent like the majority of the day searching this and other forums, so if this is already addressed in another post, please don't assault me too much for it .

I made one and posted it here a while back... Both OEM and .cab installer. Didn't see any interest in it so I didn't make any other skins for it. Do a search for my nick and the post should show up.

Thumbs up

Buddy.....

Thanks a million, will download and try it now. How could people not take an interest in this, this looks hella tight?!?!

Well u got a supporter, and I've tipped your scales in appreciation.

So this is tried and tested and won't mess wid anything else on my phone (remember I have a stock ROM)?

Also, how can I load my own custom backgrounds?

I guess I should read the post you linked too first before asking all these questions, but I'm soooo hyped .

Thanks if this works, and still thanks if it doesn't.

I am currently running it on my apache (oem in the rom) and also tested the cab on my apache with no problems. I also had a friend with a kaiser test the cab with no problems. The background is part of the "3D" gradient buttons, so changing the background is a bit of work. I just took the original image from XDA, ran up GIMP, and created my own gradient buttons on my own image using the XDA image as a reference to the sizes. Actually only took 30 minutes or so, and I am not a graphics wizard. The actual text and radio buttons in the gradient buttons are part of the comm manager binary, so you only have to create the image. If I get time, I'll create a source image for the buttons so you can just drop them onto an image of the right size. Prolly be a week for that, as I am going home for days off (truck driver) and don't geek on my time off.

Trust me, what you have done here is way perfect. That red background will go great with my Heavenly Sword red backgrounds .

Just did a Sprite Backup and will install the cab now.

Quick question, will this also overwrite the Comm Manager in my TouchFlo Cube?

This looks sooooo great.

Thank you so much!!!

The only thing not working is the Wi-Fi button, but I'm sure I saw a fix for that on the link you sent. If you know how just let me know and I'll try to apply it.

Again, thank you very much.

Crap... Now that I've turned on the Wi-Fi it won't turn off, not even using the hardware keyboard.

Lemme do a restore and try again.

I will look into that wifi issue. The friend who tested it for me with the kaiser doesn't use wifi, so that didn't get tested. Works fine on apache, but I see the wifi problem xda is talking about. I will be back here on friday so will test a few things then. If you figure it out between now and then all the better, or I will try myself if not. Sorry about the bug.

Not your fault, but thanks again. I'll look forward to getting a fix.

Just PM me when you get through .
