question bout wm version

hi,

i recently bought HTC Kaiser (TyTN2) phone. this is my first smartphone, and im new to all this rom cooking stuff :)

for start, im not sure how to even check if i have windows mobile 6.0 od 6.1 on my phone. this is information i can read from off the phone:

ROM version: 1.56.405.5
ROM date: 08/28/07
Radio version: 1.27.16.21
Protocol Versiob: 22.52.88.13W

Windows mobile 6 professional
ce os 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2) (c) 2007 microsoft

Processor: MSM7200-400MHZ

i see that windows 6.5 was released, and i'd like to upgrade to 6.5 if possible. can you please tell me if i can find premade rom with which to upgrade, or do i need to make one first with cooking software?

tnx alots

Check otuthe XDA site lsited above. there are many choices for a rom there... But make sure you read their "flashing your first tilt rom" post first.. it will give you step by step instructions on how to do this... be sure to nto skip a step... they are all important

Just a heads up, when looking for ROMs, its never a good idea to ask which the best is because they all serve different functions and work better for different tastes. Some people like the Manila interface (ported from HTC Diamond) but it doesnt work in landscape mode. Some prefer Titanium (WM 6.5 default) or some prefer the standard with just date and a few apps. Also different ROMs come bundled with different software so be sure to try out a few before sticking to one. I personally flashed about 8 ROMs before i found one i liked (I use jjblaster3's WM6.5.5 ROM from XDA). Also, if you have the AT&T tilt branded phone, be sure to install the Tilt keyboard fix when flashing a ROM. Any questions, feel free to ask :).
