why is screen staying on when it's attached to a power cable?

I leave my Imagio attached to a power cable at night (not to a PC but just to a wall outlet). I notice that the screen is on a lot. Even though I have the Power settings set to turn it off in 3 minutes when running on external power, I think various announcements, reminders, etc. keep turning the screen on and leaving it on for much longer than that. Is there some other setting I'm missing? How do I make it leave the screen off (or at least, only leave it on for a short while) when reminders come up while it's charging? I don't want it to burn the screen all night for no useful purpose.

Mike

Make sure you have the check box checked to turn off power on AC after X minutes.

Personally, I have my check box unchecked and leave the box checked to shut off the backlight after 2 mins. on AC. It makes a great clock for night use and it automatically dims after 2 minutes.

I have mine on a vertical stand at night so it works out perfect.

hmmm. I've got that checked; any way to keep it from waking up for reminders (calendar) when on power? if it doesn't even make a noise, what's the point? At night, I just need it to be off... Is there a setting for that?

I have found this problem with unbranded or cheap AC Chargers, Are you using the Factory one?

Sounds like a screen timeout option. Lemme look around for that....
