2 ways to speed up? MaxRequestThreads and DNS

I have some tips left from my notes on the HTC XV6700 (Apache) I used to have. Supposedly, performance could be improved by 1) adding a new registry keyword MaxRequestThreads to Internet Explorer (to increase number of concurrent connections) and 2) adding some DNS servers (e.g., 208.67.222.222). Does anyone know whether this is worth doing on the Imagio w/ WM6.5?
