Did your screen stop locking itself?

Recently my screen stopped automatically locking itself when the screen shut off, which would often lead to pocket dialing when the phone was in my pocket a button got pushed.

Here's how I fixed it:

You need a registry editor like PHM Registry Editor (I think I found that in this forum). Go to \HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\ and change the AutoDeviceLockEnable from 0 to 1 then soft reset the phone and you're done.

thanks xman, but your solution didn't work for me. i used totalcommander to change the reg, reset, confirm the reg was changed, and it still doesn't autolock. any othervideas i can try?

Mine did too. I wonder whether one of the cabs I installed caused this. This and a couple of other issues caused me to save all data and do a hard reset, which solved the non-locking problem. I will re-install my cabs one at a time to see if any are to blame.

my auto lock did not work but since I uninstalled Spb Mobile Shell it has started working again. I'm just guessing that the problem related to Mobile Shell but I don't have the knowledge to support that.

Mine started this just yesterday and I have changed nothing for a couple of weeks now. Phone just started running slower and it no longer auto-locks. Wonder what happened?

honestly the best bet is a hard reset

Isn't the autolock also tied into Tf3d?

I lost my auto lock when I added fingerkeyboard, but that's fine with me. I love fingerkeyboard but hated the auto lock anyways. Now when I want to shut my phone down I just use the selection screen and that works fine for me.
