Display never dims

Anyone else? I have the box checked to auto dim as the light changes but my display never changes. In pitch black darkness it's super bright. Any suggestions?

Settings Tab -> All Settings -> System -> Power -> Advanced tab. Do you have these items checked and set to proper timeouts? Specifically the turn off backlight options.

Yes but I was under the impression that the backlight dims based on ambient light (like the MacBook Pro). Is that not the case?

Not sure about that, it seems to hold pretty close to the schedule set in that Power config in my experience.
