Issue activating the bluetooth

Have the Imagio, Love it.

I am beginning to have a very annoying problem; if i disconnect my bluetooth earpiece i have to restart my phone in order to reconnect it. The phone tells me that bluetooth is on but my earpiece won't connect so I figured i just have to connect it manually no problem. Here is where the issue is I open bluetooth (or comm manager doesn't make a difference) it shows bluethooth as off (even though the phone tells me it's on with the notification), try to turn it on and I get a message saying "Cannot Start the Bluethooth stack".

Although the phone have good out of the box i had to make some changes though (wouldnt be windows mobile if i didn't have to).
Here is what i have done (in order):
  • Compact framework 3.5
  • Ram Sweeper
  • Home Screen Customizer
  • Dusk 6.5 theme
  • Registry Editor
    • did the edit to allow screen transitions in TF3D
  • Disable verizon sms messagesent cab (have to reinstall every restart, stopped reinstalling after problem started)
  • Change screen (disabled after problem started)
  • SSK TP2 Dynamic Resource proxy (uninstalled after the problem started)
  • Enable all camera modes
  • Advanced configuration editor
I have made no changes to the bluetooth in the registry, and i have installed nothing other then what is listed. I need help in fixing this it's very irritating having to restart everytime i want to connect my earpiece.

What is this "Home Screen Customizer"?
Link to the Dusk 6.5 Theme you used?

Enable all camera modes did nothing on my Imagio....what cab did you use? Link to the thread?

As for the Bluetooth, I called HTC and the Bluetooth is built into the ROM to do that, according to them. I asked them about the fact that the Stereo Audio profile doesn't start automatically when playing music, and brought this up as well.

I am having the same problem with Bluetooth on my Imagio. "Can't turn on bluetooth" is the error message, then if I go to Bluetooth settings and try to enable it, it says "cannot load the Bluetooth stack". I didn't install anything that would seem to interfere with Bluetooth - just a couple games from WinMo Marketplace. Problem started yesterday.

Ok i think i solved it. I can enable and disable bluetooth as much as i want that is untill i run "ram sweeper". As soon as i run that i can no longer enable my bluetooth so it has led me to believe that it is that app that kills it. I will keep trying and i will update if i discover anthing different.

Dusk came from xda can't find the link again but its just a theme.

Home screen customizer came from the windows marketplace and allows you to change the tabs on the original windows 6.5 today screen.

Never had problem with only these installed but i will remove them in an effort to narrow down the my belief that ram sweeper kills it.

I am not using Ram Sweeper. I didn't mess with the registry, I didn't install anything other than a few things from WinMo Marketplace. I installed:

AP Mobile (associated press news app)
Panoramic Blackjack
Meon Lite
Panoramic MoTweets

That's it. I didn't even change any icons, backgrounds, themes, today items...nuttin.

Re: Issue activating the bluetooth

I have started having the same error also. The way that HTC configured Bluetooth on the ROM is the issue here. maybe they were trying to save battery or maybe because of the 3.5 jack, I have no idea, but they have done everything they can to make it hard to run Bluetooth and to listen to stereo Bluetooth audio.

The stack doesn't load directly, it uses some type of proxy to intercept it, then shut down the stereo audio profile and give us annoying notifications that our Bluetooth is on. Or that we have disconnected Bluetooth, or blah blah.

We need to start riding HTC hard about this issue, as well as our cellphone providers.

Re: Issue activating the bluetooth

I called Verizon, they had me do a master restore from the ROM. That solved the issue, so it's not a hardware issue. But nonetheless, I fully expect it to happen again.

i have not had the issue since i quit using ram sweeper, my belief is that is the problem for me. I am just on the hunt for another ram cleanup app.
