Tethering question
So thanks to the Internet Sharing thread here, I can now tether my laptop to the phone and surf my blogs and gaming websites that are blocked by the firewall at work.
I was wondering if it is possible to convince my laptop to use the wireless signal for internet while still keeping me connected to the network through the ethernet cable. That way I can surf the web unimpeded and still have access to my network drive. Is this possible? |
Re: Tethering question
When you try to do something like this you are getting into split-tunneling. In essence, you are trying to assign two IP addresses and configurations to your PC and have it utilize a specific connection for a designated purpose. Some VPN solutions allow you to do this today, but I don't know the specifics.
