Lock Screen SMS Notifications and Preview Question
 

Ok, so on my old phone (Omnia) whenever I would get a text or something while the phone was locked I would of course get the notification in the lock screen where you can tap it and it will take you to whatever you missed. Now I get this:

A preview which will go away on its own, and along with it goes the notification on the lock slider:

Wtf is up with that? If you miss your phone ring or vibrate then you would have no idea you missed anything until you unlock your phone.

I had something strange happen on my Imagio the other night. I heard the "New Email" notification. I looked at the phone and on the lock screen there was the normal slider for the unlock function. But right below it was another slider that looked like an envelope (If I remember right). Sliding the slider on the bottom took me directly to the email tab in touchflo.

It has never done that before and hasn't done it since. Usually when I get a new email it puts a "1" on the unlock slider signifying a new email or sms. I have to unlock it and slide to the email tab.

When you see a notification on the locl slider, if you tap it, it will drop down another slider corresponding to the alert you got. If you slide that it should take you straight to your email, sms, etc.

Thats one thing about this phone, on the TP(Raphael) that i had before the ring around the center would rotate if i had any missed calls, texts etc.. after the battery life though of the TP and other smart phones im not sure if they decided something like that was draining the battery more than people wanted or what but the imagio has no other active notification accept for in the lock screen. however when you're phone is on low power the small battery indicated blinks as well as when its charging, not sure if someone couldhas made a cab that might be able to make it blink when you have a text or call even though it wouldnt be that noticable unless u looked at your phones it could be a start. :dontknow:

I found out the hard way (much as you have) that turning on the message notifications also clears the message indicator on the slider. The only way I've found to fix it is to remove the notification popups.

Settings > All Settings > Sounds & Notifications.
Tap the "Notifications" tab at the bottom.
On the Event drop down select the notification that's screwed up, for example "Messaging: New Text Message". Next uncheck "Display Message on Screen".

Once you do this the new message indicator will remain on screen until you unlock the phone.
