PPCGeeks - Time Zone problems

I just traveled from Eastern Time zone to Las Vegas. I had a number of appointments set into my calander through Outlook and had sinc'd them with my phone. The time set was the local time in Las Vegas. As we traveled to the Pacific Time Zone, the phone automatically adjusted, however, my appointments were three hours earlier than they should be. For example, my 8 am appointments showed as 5:00 am. In other words, they adjusted three hours the wrong way. 8 am in Las Vegas is 11:00 am in Michigan, not 5:00. Is there an easy way to fix this. I spent some time with Verizon help and they were clueless. Microsoft website seems to have no clues for that.
Any suggestions would be great.
