Re: DROID on the 6th... whos staying WinMo?
You guys are nuts. It may have some bumps but that thing rocks. It has one of the fastest processors in it. Same processor as iPhone 3Gs. No, the keyboard isn't as nice as TP2 but then again it doesn't have all that extra weight and thickness either. I'm sure a bunch of issues will get fixed with the Dec 11 update. iPhone was kinda crippled to on first release and look at that now. If you don't want to be on cutting edge then stick with the devil you know.

Re: DROID on the 6th... whos staying WinMo?
To be honest my Imagio keeps giving a lot of problems that I'm constantly on this forum daily trying to fix the problems but i dont know what it is I'm so in love with the imgaio. I guess it's the community behind this fourm and wimos devices that are always willing to help out when needed. With that said i've took my Imagio to verizon 4 times now and everytime i went it was to trade it for the driod but it's like every time i play with one at the store i always seem to walk back out with my imagio. To be honest it's not as lighting fast as most people claim, like i stated i've been to verizon 4 times and every time i've played with the device it felt like the same speed as my imagio? The internet browser is just as fast as opera i didn't see the speed everyone was raving about? There's something about the screen, yeah it's 3.7in but the imagio is still wider than it and i think i prefer that over the lenght? Kinda like the iphone is 3.5in but it's wider than the imagio's 3.6 So yeah i'm defiantly staying with winmo...That Eris is looking really nice though if they would have made the screen bigger than that would be a better disscusion

Re: DROID on the 6th... whos staying WinMo?
I've had very few issues with my imagio and after trading phones with my girlfriend for two days who just got a droid the only thing I can say that was even remotely neat was the native SSH.
I didn't like the feel, look, usability or performance. She is taking hers back to get an imagio tomorrow too so it wasn't one sided.

Re: DROID on the 6th... whos staying WinMo?
no doubt the android software looks sweet. the droid does have a lot of cool things like the docks but i cant get over that crappy keyboard. like i said earlier over half of the floor model droids the keyboards were bubbling up. maybe thats why i dont feel the droid isnt a quality built phone. I also looked at the eris and the droid side by side and the eris screen looked brighter and sharper. Maybe some settings needed to be adjusted on the droid or something.

I am saying the droid does not have enough to make me switch at this point because i feel that the quility is not good and it is fugly. Just because the driod uses metal and glass doesnt mean its a quiltiy built phone. i can almost garentee there will be over a 40% return rate on those things for the keyboard bubbling up. if you look at the reviews for this most people list the keyboard as a con so i am not the only one that does not like the keyboard on it. I do realize that it would be hard to get a TP2 type keyboard on this thing because it is so skinny. right now IMO the perfect phone does not exist. it is really hard to find a good hadware/software combination. Iphone probably has the best hardware out there but I wouldnt want to get stuck with the apple OS. Maybe the Iphone with the Android 2.0 on it? (atleast for people that dont need a physical keyboard) |
