Alarm Clock Customized Ringtones???

Hi,

I have tried almost every way possible to add my own ringtones to the Alarm Clock but can't. My custmoized ringtones show up for the Reminders, Text, Missed Calls etc. but not in the Clock options.

Have tried both WAV and MP3 files. Nothing works! Help Please!!!

Where are you putting these custom ringtone files?

Have tried every location I can think of. Both on device and card. It seems the Ringtones for Alarm Clock are hard coded. Searched for them in Registry as well. Also Tried to rename Alarm-Classic to something else and tried renaming mine to it and still doesn't work!

I think you need to put files inside "/windows" directory and also need to be .wav format.

Yep, if you go in to the root of the Windows directory and look for the alarms that exist, just match their WAV properties, and you should be good to go on your customized alarms.

I tried putting in root of windows directory. What do you mean matching the wav properties? Will mp3 format work? Has any one been able to install their own ringtones for Alarm Clock? Any help appreciated!

Ok, try this. Rename your file but use "Alarm-InsertYourFileNameHere.wav" without the quotes of course and place it in the Windows root directory. I had an alarm from my Titan that I moved over, couldn't get it to work, browsed the alarm files and found the above naming scheme and tried it and it worked. Now instead of Gentle.wav I have Alarm-Gentle.wav and it shows up on the list of alarm tones.

Hope this helps!

Will only wav files work? Any size limitations? Tried with mp3 file of 256k and your naming convention but no luck!

I would save my slef the headache and get G-Alarm. I am not sure why MS/HTC can't put a usable alarm clock on the phones.

I know if you search hard enough there is a free version floating around too. i think V1.5 is free to use and newer versions cost about $7 U.S. but well worth it
