using wmwifirouter on Verizon?

This web page

http://www.scottklarr.com/topic/147/...odem-for-free/

indicates that to use wmwifirouter to create a wifi access point via the phone requires the following registry edits on Spring:

# Goto: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareOEMWModem"
# Set "CheckProfile", "Multi-NAI" and "WModemDUN" DWORDS to a decimal value of "0".

does anyone know whether this is necessary on Verizon?

Mike
