Imagio Powered Car Mounts?

I'm pretty sure there are none available currently, but do you guys see anybody creating one sometime in the near future?

Are any of you using a universal car mount that works well for this phone?

Re: Imagio Powered Car Mounts?

I've used the Proclip system for years (Samsung Sch-I730 and 760) and IMHO are the best systems on the market. The Imagio is new but I wrote to them last week and received the following reply:

Dear Customer:

We will have to look into making a holder for this device.

Due to an overwhelming request, worldwide, to develop all different kinds of holders, we
must prioritize.

Once we will have a holder available for your device, we will notify you via email.

As I recall, it took them a month or more after the release of the Samsungs to have the holders in production. I will probably use an inexpensive universal along with my vehicle charger until they produce one.

Re: Imagio Powered Car Mounts?

If you find a basic holder, this little gizmo might help. It'll combine power and audio-out for the device. In functions almost exactly like what I had for my iPod, an all-in-one solution I was missing with the Imagio till I ordered this.

I have to second this emotion - ProClips are fantastic, if a little pricey. I followed the same route (i730, i760 - also an old video iPod), and was on the mailing list for when these come out - well they just did!

Re: Imagio Powered Car Mounts?

Just ordered mine. These are the best systems on the market, IMHO. Not the cheapest, but the best. Also, in case any TP2 owners are interested, although it's not listed on their site, they have just finished production on the TP2 device holder for the Verizon phone. Nice thing about these systems, especially for TP2 owners is that holders come with a tilt/swivel that allows rotation for landscape viewing (as does ours) but it also adds the ability to slide the keyboard out and still stay in the holder. Per the CR I spoke to, it will be listed soon. Also, 10% holiday discount starts tomorrow.

Re: Imagio Powered Car Mounts?

I was hoping they would have a mount that included the audio jack. Do they not make these? It would be nice to be able to sit the phone in the mount and not have to worry about plugging the audio cable in as well.

Re: Imagio Powered Car Mounts?

Sorry to do some thread necromany here, but I wondered if anyone got one of the powered mounts from ProClip

Is that port on the bottom right of the powered mount the ExtUSB jack so that it would output the audio there or is it just a plain mini USB port?

Alternatively, I'm looking for something to attach to my dash (double stick tape or velcro are certainly options--we don't need to be fancy here!!) and then run the power/audio over to the appropriate ports on the middle of the car. If anyone has suggestions of something that securely holds the phone that has a flat back and access to the ExtUSB port on the bottom, that would be much appreciated.

I'm certainly not above buying something "close" and then modifying it. I'd really like to be able to just slide the phone into the holder and have it slide over top of the ExtUSB cable, but if I have to manually plug that in, that wouldn't be the end of the world.
