Any problems with ActiveSync/Google's Exchange Server?

I've had the XV6900, Omnia i910, and now the HTC Imagio.

With all three phones I've configured ActiveSync to use Google's Exchange server. My Gmail account is sitting there with 3 unread messages (I can see this on the computer) however my Imagio isn't picking them up. I've turned it off and on again (hopefully that's as good a soft reset!). Still not showing any unreads.

Has anyone had any problems with this setup? Thanks.

Do not use the setup wizard to configure your Google Sync. Skip that step, then run activesync on your phone, and use the menu, tap configure server, and set it up from there. Also, don't let active sync try to automatically find the exchange settings, remove that check box, and set it up yourself.

So, does this work for pushing the gmail? (Ie: as items arrive in schedule settings)? I can't seem to get it to work. If I manually send/receive the unread mails will show up in my box, but otherwise the phone will just sit there until I manually sync.

Yes, flawlessly thus far on my Imagio. If you use the initial setup wizard to set up Google as your Exchange server, it doesn't work correctly. If you follow my instructions above, it has been working for a couple of weeks now, except for those times when Google Sync is down for changes.

If I shut down Outlook on my PC< all my emails go to my Imagio. If I have Outlook running, occasionally emails go to both. When I start Outlook on my PC, all the emails that went to my Imagio come to the PC.

It's working now... I've read posts about the Google Sync service being a little flaky at times--maybe that's what was going on.

With Google Sync, I get notified of new email on my phone before the IM client on my computer tells me about it.

I just wish they'd get Tasks tied in--then I'd be set!

Active sync effects mem and battery. How much will partly dependon how many "pushes" an hour and how much you manual sync via sending an email.

I cant get my gmail emails to automatically get pushed to the Imagio when a new email is sent to me. I tried from my work computer to my gmail account and it doesnt come automatically unless I click on sync. I made sure Direct Push was on and that Active Sync on my Imagio is set to Sync "As Items arive". Do I need to configure something on my desktop or gmail itself? What am I doing wrong. Does something else need to be downloaded. Please advise.

I dont see this option anywhere, where can I find it exactly:

Also, don't let active sync try to automatically find the exchange settings, remove that check box, and set it up yourself.
