Change default web browser?
 

Now that I've installed Opera Mini 5 beta, how do I make that the default browser? Opera 9.5 was terribly slow for everyday browsing. Thanks!

I have the same problem too. I delete Opera 9.7, then IE became the default rather than Opera 9.5. I read the previous posts that I need to go to "preference" to set Opera 9.5 as default, but I don't see such option in either Opera 9.5 or Opera Mini 5 under the "setting" option.

In addition, I find Imagio's zoom bar won't work for Opera 9.7 or Opera Mini.

Anybody offer a hand to these two problems? I would be greatly appreciate it. :notworthy:

i too removed opera 9.7, my machine lockedup each time i would use it.

to set the default browser you have to edit the registry as:

for Opera:
HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Shell/Rai/:DEFBROWSER
/0 Opera Browser
/1 "\Windows\OperaL.exe"

for IE:
/0 IExplore
/1 :MSPIE

There is a hack for Opera Mini here at XDA-Developers. This is an older thread so I'm guessing you would just substitute the old version of the program for the newer one.

I just installed Opera 9.7 and it is set as the default when I launch the browser. I didn't change any settings?

Yeah it installs itself as the default. What version of 9.7 did you install?
