Re: Weather defaults to Kretinga
Same here! In my case, my #1 location is a nearby town. For some reason the auto-location setting thinks that I reside in a nearby town. I don't know how I can change to make the auto-location be more precise...

Re: Weather defaults to Kretinga
Strange. I was thinking that it may be due to having the setting to check weather while roaming enabled. So I turned that off, and updated weather but didn't help. For some reason my phone is on 1x network in my office today when it's normally on 3G. I'll go outside at lunch time and see if it resorts back to 3G and if that has any affect on the weather location.

Re: Weather defaults to Kretinga
I noticed the same thing but while using Bing. Since I live in Iowa, for some reason when I wanted the GPS to track me it thought I was in Missouri. What I noticed is I had initially ran the Quick GPS but since the GPS thing was annoying the heck out of me, I did I wiped the device back to factory set everything back up and ran Bing again without applying the Quick GPS and it actually found me the way it was suppose to. I am just wondering if the Quick GPS is the issue.

Re: Weather defaults to Kretinga
Yep, same here. Mine defaulted to a place called Minske for several days. I had to disable location, soft reset, then re-enable location. Worked for me so far.

Re: Weather defaults to Kretinga
I think it has to do with the cell tower you're talking to at that moment. I've gotten nearby town/city locations once in a while, and a manual update often changes it back to wherever I really am.

Re: Weather defaults to Kretinga
I noticed this happens to me when I don't have 3G mode... it searches, can't find anything, so it defaults to a depressingly warmer location.

Re: Weather defaults to Kretinga
It looks like it is tied to 3G mode somehow. When i went outside (my office is in the basement and my cell signal is via repeaters spread throughout the building) I picked up 3G again, went to the weather screen and pushed update, and the home screen was simultaneously updated to the right location. This is a pretty neat feature I guess, albeit a little off-putting.
