Imagio Setup Guide

This is by no means a complete list so please post any additional tweaks you may have here and I will update.

Most of these tweaks have come from the TP2 forum. The devices are similar and there are a lot more tp2 owners contributing over there which makes it a great place to find ideas to improve the imagio. If you find anything good please bring it back here to help people out (remember to give credit to the op)

GPS is not enabled by default. Slide over to settings/all settings/personal/phone. Hit the cdma services tab, highlight location settings and then get settings. Switch over to LOCATION ON.

Remove TV Icon

I used SKTools for this process. All you really need is a registry editor and something that can view the services. Or if you know how to disable services through the registry you can do that too. i did the following steps and did a soft reset and the TV icon was gone from the bar!

Step 1:
backup registry. SKtools have a backup option where you can do a full backup of the registy

Step 2:
Delete keys Launch95 and Depend95 from HKLM\Init folder in registry.
The launch95 key should reference an MFLO exe.

Step 3:
View services in SKtools and set the MFLO_RSSI service to Manual.
This references a MFLO_RSSI.dll

OR

Remove via registry editor
HKLM\Services\MFLORSSI
(Thanks Shemmy!)

Then Soft Reboot and its gone!

Looks like we can finally have the same background in all tabs without messing up the clock or notification bar. It also reportedly works when changing wallpapers although I have not tested.

Just copy the two files in the .zip into windows and soft reset.

Thanks to superboy!

and here is a .cab thanks to apristel!

In order to use some apps you will need microsoft .net 3.5 installed.
Get it from here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Tobychris has kindly provided a direct download site with quite a few useful .cabs to help get your phone set up.

Tobeychris' Useful Cabs

File: At0mAng Enhanced D3D Driver.cab
Works great - smooths out tf3d manila

File: Disable Auto Device Lock.cab
Have not tried it yet but people have asked for it here

File: Disable SMS Sent Notification.cab
Does not work for Verizon - Will post a solution

File:Enable All Camera Modes.cab
Have not tried

File:Enable In Call Recording.cab

File:Enable Rapi.cab
Disables security warnings

File:ICS and WModem Fix.cab
Use this one to set up internet sharing

File:PHM Registry Editor.cab
Free registry editor

Another great .cab is the SSK TP2 Dynamic Resource Proxy.cab. This .cab will save about 20mb of ram which for some odd reason is quite low on the imagio. Thank scott and check out his site here http://sskusers.net/support/showthread.php?t=149.

Disabling the text messaging notification has been a huge issue for Verizon TP2s. I am going to post what worked for me... if you have another solution please post it here. First of all you will need the Advanced Configuration tool from Shaps. You can find it at his original thread over on xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418151.

Open up advanced config and set:
Messaging > SMS Sent notification > Enabled
Messaging > SMS Delivery notification > Disabled

Reg edit:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Default : Options set to 0

You can also try this .cab and see if it works for you. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/attachment...3&d=1253250145
Thanks to 8notime for the .cab (first post of the thread i linked earlier)

Soft reset and enjoy. <thanks to phain for this!> http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=84285&page=4

psShutXP is a nice utility for soft resetting since HTC decided to hide the reset button under the battery cover.
Grab it from its website here http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/. Check out the skinning section... lets see if we can get a nice Imagio skin!

Finger Keyboard is a great alternative to the stock version, especially in landscape. Check it out over in its original thread at xda. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501122

For bigger keys in landscape and portrait check out this thead.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...hlight=bigkeys

For big keys rename .txt file to skin-02-wvga-land-01-eng.txt and overwrite the file in the fingerkeyboard/skins file. then soft reset.
I have not figured out how to keep finger keyboard as the default keyboard yet. keeps reverting back to stock.

Screen Rotation. Why htc doesn't give us an easy way to rotate the screen is beyond me. There are two apps that work well for auto screen rotation. Gyrator2 and Changescreen. Both are from XDA... try them out and let us know which works best.
Gyrator2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427805
Changescreen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468488

Bluetooth Notification (From XDA)
If you don't like being notified every time you connect or disconnect from bluetooth Wensing has provided a .cab and instructions for us.

Go into a registry editor and add the following:
* A key {607CDEA2-E44A-4528-A2C3-A7DC6B6D824D} in HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\
In this key add the following:
* A DWORD value with the name AvailableOptions with a value of 9
* A String value with the name Default with a descriptive value, like "Bluetooth warning"

Now go to Settings - Sounds & Notifications and change the options of the "Bluetooth warning" notification.

I have created a cab for easy installation.

Stop Activesync from running all the time.

WVGA APPS AND GAMES

There are already a couple of great lists out there for wvga apps and games. Check out the Blackstone forums at XDA as that device has been out for awhile now.

Thanks for the list!

I put Sipchange on and it seems to work for me, although it reports a crash everytime I reboot the phone.

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...on+SMS+Message

Replacement task bar that works well.
tsowentaskbar2 Can't find the linkt to the cab right now.

PSShutXP works very well for soft reset.

So it works even though it crashes? lol. I didn't even think to see if it was working. I guess that counts for something

Thanks for the info!

I was trying to add psshutxp last night when the board went completely down. I have been meaning to check out some taskbars... thanks for the tip! For sms did you reset your phone to verify it sticks? I'm not sure that .cab was posted when i tried my fix.

SIPChange: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...48&postcount=1

Although I haven't used it on my Imagio yet I did use it on my Omnia and had no such problems.

Also for anyone that happens to be using phoneAlarm there's a setting for default SIP and Landscape SIP at the bottom of the Advanced Settings tab.

I have tried that sipchange and it does crash on the imagio. My thought is htc is forcing their keyboard on us for some reason.
