Unlocked HTC Imagio won't read T-Mobile SIM?
 

Hi, I have an unlocked HTC Imagio with a T-Mobile SIM....but it fails to register the network...? I've already set the Network to GSM/UTMS already and have checked that the phone is unlocked, which it is. I know that its possible to have this phone working on a GSM Network, but for some reason mine doesn't. Is there something I did wrong, or is there another way?

Does it ask for another code or does it just not work? Was there any response when you put in the SIM card and restarted the phone? Does the SIM card work fine in a T-Mobile phone?

It doesn't ask me for anything...it just doesn't work. No, there wasn't any response from the phone as far as I know, it just keeps searching for a network and when I select T-Mobile it doesn't respond. It's not reading the SIM card at all period. And yes, the SIM worked fine on my old T-Mobile phone....

Thought your phone may need a SIM unlock code but probably not since there is no prompt.

Just to confirm how you checked if the phone is unlocked --- When you go into Settings, Security and SIM Manager (way to access may be different based on your ROM) does the phone prompt you for a code or does it respond that it is already unlocked?

Only other thing I can think of is to try a friend's SIM from AT&T or another carrier to see if it works so you can at least be sure that the GSM radio of the phone works. :(

I have not tried a T-Mobile SIM but I did try an AT&T SIM when I unlocked my phone and it was recognized without any problem. Hope it is not possible for T-Mobile to lock the SIM card to a particular phone.

Yeah, it responds with "The phone is SIM unlocked" or something to that effect.

Okay, I'll try seeing if another carrier works with it...hopefully its not just the phone that's messed up.

I was thinking about taking the phone to a T-Mobile store to see what they had to say...maybe they could help if the SIM card is locked to my old phone...

Hey, i have the same problem. Phone is unlocked but Tmobile sim is not detected.

Other GSM sims do work. My phone is in gsm mode.

Need urgent help.

i'm a Chinese ,i'm using imago now,,,in CHINA and TAIWAN ,,the cdma network also need sim cards(we call them uim card),,

my imago work well in China,both cdma and GSM......

if your phone is unlocked,,you can update the RADIO(in Chinese BBS,we call like this),,after that ,the phone would work normally,,,,
