Installing over Apps that are already in ROM

Does anyone know if its OK to install over apps that are already built into the custom ROM? Being that we have very limited internal memory space on our Imagios, I’d like to install as many apps to SD card as possible.

Why do you need to install them if they are already included?

Yes, you are encouraged to install apps to your SD card to save space. However, certain apps work better when installed to the device itself.

Apps that are in ROM are there regardless if you install them again to the device or to Storage Card memory. You cannot reduce the ROM size by installing an app again somewhere else. Those are hard-coded into the image of the device.

I was checking out the HD2 the other day, If i'm not mistaken it had 8GB of internal memory. My god it was fast and stable I think if all WinMo devices had that, WinMo wouldn’t get such a bum rap all the time.

The HD2 has a 1GHz CPU in it, that's the biggest reason it's fast. I agree, it would help WM, but at this point WP7 is Microsoft's focus on new phones so until those drop, we have what we have.
