The Problem with modern smart phones is "Apps"
Back when I first got into handhelds they weren't phones...they were just Pocket PCs or Palm Pilots....then they turned into Phones. What was great during those golden years was that programs were FREE for the most part. And I don't mean you could steal them, I mean developers developed useful programs for all, and for free. Now programs are called "Apps" and thanks to Apple making "Apps" a buzzword, every average Joe that compiles a program and thinks it deserves money from my pockets. -rant over-
The real question is....Is there a decent FREE calculator "app" that anyone knows of that will do simple conversions, tip calcs, and limited scientific functions anymore?

I don't know. I do a lot of digging, and other than for a few games, everything I've put on my phone is free, and I've got quite a bit of stuff.
Besides, this is the USA. People make a living by selling products.
