Suggestion - ThrottleLauncher ROM

Hi all,

I was wondering if any of the chefs who frequent this forum have considered the newly released Throttlelauncher (www.throttlelauncher.com) for a custom ROM? The release version just came out and I tried loading it up on top of my MaxManila Energy 23544 ROMed Imagio. It was pretty cool and definitely inspired by SPB Mobile Shell although it had some significant improvements over SPB's, the largest of which is an SDK for widgets. The main drawback I found was that it wasn't terribly zippy on my phone.

I don't know whether Imagios simply can't handle it or it really needs a customized ROM to shine (like Sense 2.5 does). If the latter is the case, I'd like to request/suggest that a chef consider making a ROM that showcases Throttlelauncher. I think it would be a cool and considerably different alternative to the various Sense ROMs that have already been released (thx so much for those btw!) and might therefore be worth the time of someone who has the skills necessary.

I might.. if I like it enough after I install it. Why dont you download my TItanium ROM and then put throttlelauncher on it ? I bet it'll fly then! lol

If you think that would give the app a fair chance, I would be happy to give that a shot (probably some time this weekend as I'm short on time and I'm not knowledgeable enough yet to reconfigure my reROMed phone quickly). My only question/concern is whether or not that would result in a phone that's been "optimized" for Throttlelauncher. I kinda assumed that there was more to getting Sense 2.5 to run as nicely as you get it to run than simply removing the bloatware. But if that's all there is to it and there isn't some sort of combination of performance-enhancing software and ideal settings necessary to make it work optimally, I'm totally game for testing it myself on a relatively bare-bones ROM such as the Titanium one.

I have been using ThrottleLauncher with Drelisdees Alpha for a few days now. On the plus side is that memory consumption is stable, battery consumption is stable. I like the ability to customize. There are still a few quirks when switching screens.

Overall, I like this package.

Can it be used with sense 2.5? it says something about disabling other today plugins. I simply want the cool unlocking grid .. nothing more

You can download and install just the unlock screen by itself (ThrottleLock0.7.1), if that is all you want. It is under products at their website or click HERE

Thanks.. tried but i cant figure out how to disable the lockscreen in my rom. I dont need both..
