insufficient Mb for texts!?

So, every now and then I get an automated message telling me that there is no longer enough room to download messages. Please delete unwanted files. Keep 1.5 Mb free. So, I have over 10 Mb free, plus over 50Mb program space. What gives? And I can't get messages for some time whenever this pops up. Anyone else out there with the same issue?

Re: insufficient Mb for texts!?

No, I don't get much if any pics. I just know if I drop below 10Mb and run YouTube, I get that warning, or if I have less than 5Mb and run a graphics heavy program, I get that. This is all in 'storage' memory, not Program memory.

Speaking of Program memory, is there any way to allocate program memory to take the place of storage memory? For example, say I am down to 1Mb of storage memory, is there a way for Program memory to release some of itself and be used like storage?

Re: insufficient Mb for texts!?

Weird, this is new to me too. I've seen insufficient memory before but not for texts. Try deleting old conversations becuase being a smart phone it will basically save the "Whole" conv. 200 texts+ per conv you have or whatever thats usually how much my conversations go up to. if that doesnt work try going into Settings/System/Remove programs and delete like 2-3 useless apps you dont use anymore that are taking up space. Let me know how these work.

During the time I posted this, I also was getting the text problem you are talking about. This is the link to my post about running out of memory:

Re: insufficient Mb for texts!?

I think there is some stuff to that multiple copies theory. i uninstalled 'Azgard Defence', it was somehow on my main memory. I gained 10Mb just doing that. And I still have Azgard on my memory chip. Go figure.

Outside of that, my phone is chugging along great. I tried MobileShell, too much eye candy, not stable enough. When I deleted that, I got back another 5Mb, so it was definately something that was wierd with installed programs.

I will just keep an eye on the mem, and maybe upgrade from a 2 to 16G memory card. that little guy just doesn't really cut it anymore!

Big thanks to Larry and Brian!
