how to assign "hold down red button"?

I want to assign "lock device and screen off" to "hold down red (hangup) button". I have tried a couple of different ways but whenever I press and hold it to indicate to the key control app what button I have in mind, it just goes to the quickmenu choices for shutdown - it doesn't capture it at all. Is there any way to do this? Alternatively it would be great to just have it default to lock device and turn screen off (like it used to do) when I hold down the hangup button. Something made that behavior change recently and I can't figure out how to set it back.

Mike

Re: how to assign "hold down red button"?

This has been my only serious complaint about the Imagio...Power button and End Call being the same button...I really enjoyed on all previous HTC phones I've owned having a separate Power Button...As this allowed a physical button to actually just turn the screen off quickly and lock the device...I personally hardly ever use the End Call button as I use the touch screen 99% of the time for everything...so it would be nice to find some way to just treat the End Call button as a Power Button only.

Re: how to assign "hold down red button"?

I have my media key set to turn the screen on and off, I like it much better than the default setup. Plus, when the end key was the screen key, I kept hanging up on phone calls by accident while trying to turn on the screen.

But yeah, a big WTF to Verizon for not including a dedicated standby button.
