Using the media button to turn off screen

For some reason HTC didnt give the Imagio a way to turn the screen off besides waiting for it to turn off by its self or hitting the lock softkey......and still waiting for it to turn off....my solution is a screen toggle cab. that i found somewhere on the web a while back for my crippled touch pro that I have made use of on the Imagio! its about 16kb and does not a thing but turn the screen off. No need to worry about ram usage.

steps: Install the cab and go to all settings/personal/buttons and just remap the media button on the right of the call button to screen toggle
Attached Files
File Type: cab ScreenToggle.arm.CAB (5.8 KB, 74 views) Click for barcode!

Re: Using the media button to turn off screen

But in that case you have to long press the end key and then tap screen off instead of pressing one button and having the screen automatically turn off

Re: Using the media button to turn off screen

I like XDA-Shutdown. Then you don't have to use a hardware key at all (at least not the way i have my phone set up). And it is skinable with some sweet themes to match the look of your phone.

Re: Using the media button to turn off screen

What I do is copy the devicelock.exe from the /windows folder and move it to the start menu/programs folder, that way when I use the media button my device will lock and quicky go into standby.

Re: Using the media button to turn off screen

I downloaded G-trigger... This is the best app, one little shake and my screen is off... One little shake and I can turn on or off Bluetooth. I haven't seen any Bluetooth toggle app as of yet because of the way windows mobile 6.5 handles the Bluetooth. You can setup almost any function with different motions of the phone... It took me about a minute to get use to it and get the motion right... I can't remember which thread I found it in, if anyone wants and can't find it let me know and I will post the attachment...
