Play mpg file in Windows Media Player

Does the Windows Media Player for WM6.5 play mpg files? When I do a search, it only finds mp4 files. I tried loading the file through Total Commander and File Explorer and said there is no application associated with mpg files.

Guess you need to convert the files to mp4 format.
