Re: Great Tweaks,Apps,SPB,Themes,ETC..

atomang d3d driver is supposed to speed up the tf3d interface on the phone (graphics pretty much). I've had it on my imagio for quite a while and love it. This cab along with the other memory enhancing cabs has made my phone fast and quite enjoyable.

Echoing what breadbutcher says above. The atomang d3d driver comes highly recommended. It does seem to make the interface snappier. When it first showed up in the forums (might have been in the TP2 forum) it came with a small executable of a 3D loop that you ran before and after install - it showed a significant improvement in graphic performance/frame rate. You might still be able to find that if you're interested.

Don't know how true it is but I recall seeing some discussion somewhere that indicated the atomang d3d driver was actually a re-package of a better, more expensive video driver that hTC decided against in the stock ROM to save cost. In any event, it's the second cab I add to my phone (after .NET Compact Framework 3.5) after a hard reset . . . which I do probably a lot more than need to.

Now I know it *IS* indeed a "better video driver."

I user ClearRAM works great. Not sure about memory leak, but this program gets rid of unused stuff in memory.

I find that my GWES.exe uses more and more memory throughout the day. GWES.exe handles all (or most) of the Windows Mobile UI components. The only way to reclaim that memory is a soft-reset. Things like ClearRAM are great for killing oddball apps that aren't necessary but it doesn't work on required processes that grow over time.

I use SBSH PhoneWeaver for profile management and I created an additional scheduled profile that starts at 4 a.m. and does a soft-reset when it kicks-in. A daily soft-reset seems to keep things going well enough.

Re: Great Tweaks,Apps,SPB,Themes,ETC..

Question about automang D3D and other "graphics" tweaks: I currently am running codyppc performance boost, GfxBoost, and D3D. My question is whether these are all redundant (IE They're doing the same thing) or if each goes about it in a different manner? In any case, my phone hauls, but if there's some overlap, I may be hurting myself. I will say that the biggest performance boosts have come from having GfxBoost enabled then installing D3D. After each install, the device seemed to be much snappier.
