Question Reinstalling Imagio's Stock ROM

The Imagio is my first excursion into a smart phone . . . and a WM device. I love the customization options the device offers and generally speaking I'm pretty happy with my choice.

As a result of my customization and the number of cabs I've experimented with, I've been forced to become an absolute pro at restoring my device following a hard reset (let's just say I'm glad Verizon doesn't charge for these) . As much of a pain the @%#* that is, I've gotten a restoration down to a pretty efficient process and can usually get through it pretty quickly.

One thing that I've noticed is after every hard reset, there's a new (or different) quirk to contend with. Latest one is the device occassionally stops responding - need to pull the battery momentarily to restart the phone.

I'm thinking of starting fresh and overwriting the stock ROM with the one provided by Conflipper. Looking for some help or a quick tutorial on how to do this. What other SW do I need? Anything I need to be aware of?

Re: Reinstalling Imagio's Stock ROM

I have a very similar problem that after about 3 or 4 reboots, it freezes during the booting process and I have to take the battery out.

I am running the STOCK ROM with a few tweaks like sent msg disable and "normal" things like that.

I have a really wierd problem that sometimes when answering a phone call, I slide the answer slide, but the phone doesn't answer. After about 2 seconds, the slider reapears and I slide it and the phone still doesn't answer. I try pressing the green button a few times, and eventually the phone will answer. I'm still seeking a solution for this one.

Re: Reinstalling Imagio's Stock ROM

Nothing to it , download the rom to your PC . Connect your Imagio to your PC like you are going to sync with windows mobile device center.
Open the downloaded rom file and follow the instructions on the screen, takes about 10 minutes and you have a brand new phone (rom wise).

Re: Reinstalling Imagio's Stock ROM

Thanks for the input. I'm not so sure it's my restoration process. All I'm really doing is reinstalling some pretty proven cabs. I might take a wag at reloading the ROM and I'll let you all know how I make out.

Could someone point me where can I download original first Verizon Stock rom not 3.04?
I recall there was a thread in Upgrade section, but now it's gone.

I am sorry I don't know where to get the original -but I am just curious as to why you are needing it?

I just thought it might be good to have it around in case I need to return my phone to avoid warranty issues.

You do not have to have the original. Version 3.04 is an official Rom update from Verizon Wireless. You can get it from their web site.

https://support.vzw.com/clc/index.ht...29&m=&x=16&y=3

Choose "Software Update" and it will take you here...

http://www.pcdphones.com/phone_downl...zon%20Wireless

Just choose "MR1 Upgrade" and that will be the official Version 3.04.
