Very Odd HTC Hero problem (battery related)

Alright everyone, ive been having a VERY weird problem with my Hero. lately the battery indicator bar says its full, but it has an exclamation point through it. Then when thats there, the little green status light on the left side of the phone (the one that alerts you to messages and stuff) It will blink from green to orange constantly. Now my phone died, when i plug in my charger nothing happens..It wont charge or anything. Does this mean my battery is dead? Please any advice would be REALLY REALLY greatful..This is my only phone, and I can not use it at all now, and it really is bumming me out. Thanks

Try pulling the battery out for 30 seconds. Put it back in and plug into a WALL charger. Let it sit for about 30 min and try again. Make sure you are holding the power button down until it boots. If it still wont boot, leave it on the charger a little longer. If it still wont boot, take it to sprint store.
