SIM Card Question

Hi, just a quick question because I have been a CDMA user for a long time now and don't have any experience with GSM phones. Is it possible to use a T-Mobile prepaid SIM card in an unlocked HD2 and not have to carry a contract. And if so, what all needs to be unlocked, the phone and SIM or is it an all in one deal?

Thanks,

Re: SIM Card Question

You can use it on prepaid without having to unlock anything but it is pointless really. Why spend all that money on the phone and not be able to use data? The unlimited talk/text plan for $50 on prepaid is a good deal but what is the point of having a smartphone without internet capability?

Re: SIM Card Question

Yea I know what you are saying, but I was just thinking for a lite user you could buy minutes as you need them, like the 1000 minutes for $100 which would last 6 months, and then buy like 30 hours of web access for .99 an hour. Then you would have around $45 a month into it and not have any contract. Kind of an a-typical situation for sure, but thanks for the answer.

Re: SIM Card Question

You would pay an additional $1/daily for web access but im not sure of the network speeds you will have access to. The prepaid network is not the same size as the traditional postpaid account network.
