Run Windows 7 ultimate on your HD2 (w/remote desktop)

try it...it's great. I'll write a review soon in this post when I have time but it's very easy. You can either be logged in in your phone, or your desktop PC. Most of windows 7 works perfectly,

EDIT:
Changed some settings and video is working perfectly:)

All you have to do is enable remote desktop from within windows 7, and adjust your security and graphics settings from within win7 to get the best performance. If your on HSDPA / HSPA+ / WIFI I'd recomend maxing out the settings (routing all system audio to mobile device, full screen, 16bit colors, etc...)

more screens soon....

What situations would you want to do this? Too bad you can't use the touch pack to enable the Windows 7 surface interface through TS. That would be very nice.

It's good to stream music because my computer is fast enough and I always have HSDPA in my area. Streaming video is cool too, it all works perfectly, anything on my computers hard drive fully playable anytime. That and its the ultimate backup incase I need to get at work I've done and I'm on the road. My computer pretty much stays on 24/7, so all my stuff whether I'm on the road or not is right in my hand...literally.

I'm going to post a detailed tutorial with screenshots when I have time. How to enable the right settings on your computer and which settings to select on the phone.

Basically you need to know this information about your pc:

IP address
Username
Password

I'll give instructions on how to find this information, which settings to enable on the computer, and which settings to select on the phone.

So you are opening your home PC to the Internet. Cool. That makes sense. Personally, I have the Zune subscription so I just open Media Player on my laptop and connect the HD2. . .all music, videos, podcasts sync seamlessly. . .and backup in the cloud.

I get it though, that is potentially a better way to have access to my mediacenter movie library. . . or Netflix videos. I will give it a try and see how it works.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah I use it for work stuff a lot as well. I use remote desktop (non mobile) all the time to access different computers from remote locations. Having RD Mobile on my HD2 is a little extra perk in case my million fail safes fail (we can all learn from BP haha). I'd have to say the MOST frequent thing I use it for is setting torrents to start downloading when I'm not home. So if I'm out or at work I can just start the download for the shows I watch / new music & movies etc...and by the time I get home they are already downloaded.
