htc evo recovery problems

Hi im having trouble rooting my htc, i thought it was just the newer 2.3.3 firmware so i then downgraded to 2.1 and still having problems...could or willing anyone be willing to skype or instant message me to walk through rooting it, i have rooted my previous evo before so im aware of the process and not a total stranger to it but i would gladly appreciate it tho

Ps i have visited all tutorials and utube videos but my fone always freezes somewhere...

Re: htc evo recovery problems

Im not 100 percent sure if its the same for the original evo but its worth a shot
under setting\power make sure fastboot is turned off

then turn the phone off

power it back on by holding the vol down and power at the same time

Yeah, my son got a replacement Evo that had Gingerbread on it, and fast boot was enabled, that messes things up, plus makes it where you can't get into bootloader

If you downgraded from 2.3.3 to 2.1 then you must have been rooted, so what did you do that could have messed something up? If I was you I would upgrade and use revolutionary to root and install CWM and then change to RA.
