Exclamation Charger port went bad, fixing

My EVO charger port went bad, I brung it to the Sprint store and they claim it's physical damage since they're saying the charger port is not fully on the board (which is bs), so therefore they can't replace it.

My friend have a EVO 4G with a broken screen, I was wondering if I could take the charger port out of it and put it on mines? Is there a way to repair the port?? Reply asap. thanks

Re: Charger port went bad, fixing

I haven't been inside the phone but I would thing that it would be soldered in there and don't know if you could do it without the proper tools, have you tried to go to a local shop that repairs cellphones they might be able to repair it.

Do you have TEP? If so it might be cheaper to do an insurance claim than it would be to pay to get it fixed, just throwing some ideas out.

Well I had the same problem with mine and sprint gave me another battery while they ordered me a replacement phone. I didn't have to pay anything.

A little late to the party, but...as an alternative see if you can get your hands on an old touch-pro II. They use the same batteries & you can use the TP2 to charge the battery. Cumbersome, but it's an alternative.
