Also someone told me they can root my phone so i can get free hotspot and it will make the processor in to a 1.5ghz. is this true

Free hotspoting is baked into most of the roms. Not quite 1.5, you can do like 1.2ghz without crashing. This will make the battery life even worse.

You can install a dynamic clock program where it chooses the clock speed on the fly. Pretty sweet

i done custom roms on my touch pro n touch pro 2 a few years ago. i havent messed wit my evo what rom is best and im useing a mac.
also i have an extended batt

That's a tricky question. It's like asking who is the hottest model. Just flash a whole bunch and see what you like.

With the extended battery, I would think about flashing one of the SBC kernels. It will charge your extended battery fully in the phone.
