I've made that mistake. Fortunately after multiple resets I was finally able to get in and reduce the clock speed.

Re: How to fix endless boot cycle..??
Would this work?
adb remount adb shell #cd /system/apps [OR WHICHEVER DIRECTORY SetCPU IS STORED IN] #mv setcpu.apk setcpu.apk.bak [RENAME SetCPU.APK to .BAK] #exit adb reboot Wouldn't this in theory stop SetCPU from opening after the reboot? Last edited by Dethkon1; 09-06-2010 at 01:46 AM. Reason: Code Error. |

Re: How to fix endless boot cycle..??
you know the new version of setcpu has safemode built in
2.0.3 - Added a "safe mode" function that prevents SetCPU from running any tasks during boot if a file called "setcpu_safemode" exists in /sdcard or /data/local. This is useful if unstable settings were saved with "set on boot" checked. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419 this is if you dont have new version http://www.careace.net/2010/05/12/ho...s-through-adb/

When I did this, I booted into recovery, remounted the data partition, and deleted the apk. I am extremely comfortable with the command line, though.

Re: How to fix endless boot cycle..??
If you have another ROM on your sd card boot into recovery and flash that, then do a complete wipe and reinstall the ROM of your choice. You will lose everything if it's not backed up, but at least you will have a phone that works.
