Get spare parts from the market..leave phone alone all night.In the morning open spare parts,battery history,and switch the tab to partial wake useage and you will get a list of apps or services that are running or have run over the night.

Your awake and up time will be the same, or your awake time will keep going after you shut the screen off. It normally takes a few seconds for the phone to go into hibernation. One drawback I'm seeing is the market accepting basically any app and don't have certain guidelines in place. I'm guessing with the explosion of Android this will come to a stop in the future.
