Slow messaging with new update

The main messaging app. is extremely laggy after I did the update. Everything else seems to be running as smooth or smooth. i.e. web browsing is much faster I've noticed, however I text a lot and it's extremely annoying. Anybody else having the same issue? if so, any messaging app. suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Slow messaging with new update

Messaging has slowed down for me too, seemed to be a little better after a soft reset but still noticably slower than 2.1

Re: Slow messaging with new update

Yeah, I've tried rebooting. Considering deleting all messages and seeing if that's why but I'd rather not since it wasn't slowed down previously. Battery life is also the same or worse....

Mine doesn't seem any slower in the Messaging app, if it keeps giving you problems use Handcent. Its a pretty cool app. I find it to be faster than the regular app...and that was on 2.1

Re: Slow messaging with new update

I thought it was my handscent app but it wasn't. I reverted back to stock and it still freezes up. Sometimes calls the person, sometimes enters the wrong conversation for the person I clicked on. When I had handscent it event forced the program to close a few times.

Cmon devs. FULLY TEST this stuff before you rush it out the door...srsly...do you guys not have a life and don't text people?

I am running the earlier OMJ Froyo release from 7/31 and handcent seems to work fine for me. I have not yet updated to the OMJ Official release yet. One thing I did notice was that my incoming text times are an hour fast again. I flashed one ROM and they were right, but I can't remember which one it was. And the time stamp offset in Handcent doesn't work.

Re: Slow messaging with new update

I have noticed this too.
I use handcent.

Because of a few tweaks and app's I've installed since I got the evo on release date I'm thinking about reloaded the whole phone with this new stock rom... Is there a "full" release of the build or only an update??
