Smile new to EVO

Hello, Geeks.
long time reader, very rare poster...
after 3 weeks of fighting my TPs ( first after 15 months of terrific service started overheating and not charging), sprint shoved 2 different refubs in 1 week down my throat. so i strated looking for a new "toy", since i am eligable for upgrade for laast 3 years... well just now checked sprint.com and saw EVO 4g is avalable... placed order... bill going from $33/month to ~ $80... but well what you going to do?
so hello android world!

Re: new to EVO

You won't regret the switch! Make sure to get a screen protector, I dropped mine yesterday thank goodness I had the zagg shield on there.

Re: new to EVO

thanks,
i am not new to touch screens
i do have TEP for oops moments; Zagg Invisible SHIELD FULL BODY MAXIMUM HTC EVO 4G already on its way, along with desk charger with 2 extra batteries ....i am aware of limitations of this device so i will address them ( adapter, car chargers, and wall outlet, actually my recepticals are by True Power, so I got USB plugs in most of my wall outlets ).
now i need to figure out if i want to put the mount on my motorcycle or stick with GPS .

can i tehter, like with TP USB or wifi ( i think i bought PDAnet a while back, but i'd rather stick with cable)... I think i will root before i go for it through... i tend to switch laptops at work often ( a different laptop daily...nature of the job), so work, personal laptops- installing PDANet on all the PC is not for me...

$30 to pay to sprint... well I have hard time justifying when i have wireless/wired at work so as at home, and only reason i was tethearing at work.... I like streaming radio/youtube and my employer restricts those site to 60 mins a day. purposefully defeating websense firewal is frawn upon... so tethearing was my solution...

oh well
i recall when startac was the shiznit...the first PAM device.... surely dial up speed but it was unreal ...oops i just showed my age and how long i have been with sprint...

Re: new to EVO

if you root the phone you can wifi tether. plenty of threads/tips/tricks around about it.

you can continue to use your tp2 batteries.
