Re: BIG issue

Honestly, turn off automatic facebook syncing altogether until the update comes out next week. There is a glitch that causes it to keep downloading data non stop and it can suck down a full battery in a couple hours.

Also, turn off enable always on data and turn off auto-syncing of everything else you don't need.

You don't actually need to ATK. I stopped using it and I get great battery life. Install a program called Juice Plotter which will help you monitor your battery usage.

Also, Turn off 4G unless you are actively using it. I've found that you can leave wifi on with minimal battery hit.

Also, install a program called spare parts that has some great battery usage info that can help you monitor what programs are keeping your phone away or are using excessive data.

With these settings, I can go to sleep with my phone not charging and when I wake up I'll have lost less than 5% of battery.

I often get at least a day and a half out of my battery this way.

Re: BIG issue

Jared, your issue sounds like that facebook contact syncing bug. Disable auto-updating of facebook contacts for htc sense.

Also, a program called os monitor can show exactly what processes are running and you can see what is using your network and cpu. If you see people using a lot, that will confirm what I'm talking about.

The issue doesn't replicate over Wifi though, which I find a bit weird... I'm downloading os monitor now, thanks for the info, we'll see if disabling the auto-update fixes it if 'people' is using a lot of system resources.

Re: BIG issue

Mine was using a constant 30%. It was so bad it was getting hot and causing reboots. I almost hard reset my phone before I found the problem.

Re: BIG issue

Well as of right now 'com.android.providers.applications' is using about 40% of my CPU, and while in 'sleep' mode.

Any idea what it is?

Edit: Seems the 'People' process is indeed constantly looping. Disabling it meow!

That's kind of how I felt too, I HAD to with winmo, but in android it's something you WANT to do. Go OMJ, Fresh, DamageControl, those are all extremely stable, close to stock just with superuser access. And free wifi tethering. And apps2sd. And as for the OTA's, they get cooked into every ROM. You have to remember sprint's ROMs = dumb. Try it, and you can always flash back to stock.

Right on! It sounds like I was right! Hopefully that does the trick.

Re: BIG issue

im dling both those programs after i just hard reset twice.... battery is ten times better since the reset (obviously) and i hope that this will help me out in the future i appreciate the efforts and definitely hitting thanks, but another question arises lol....about the Facebook sync...i wanna be able to merge contacts for the sole purpose of having pictures for everyone but when i do, then everyones events are added to my calendar, their numbers are erased, and it dam well screws everything up, is there a way to sync the pics without mass chaos? or it syncing anything else?

Re: BIG issue

I'm not sure idaman. I didn't do anything special, mine just worked. Sorry, I can't help you with that one.
